Ingredients

  • 1 cup (240 ml) filtered hot water (90-95°C / 194-203°F)
  • 1 teaspoon whole organic fennel seeds, lightly crushed
  • 1/8 teaspoon (a small pinch) finely ground Himalayan pink salt


Instructions

  1. Lightly crush the fennel seeds using a mortar and pestle or the back of a spoon to break the husks and release their oils.
  2. Heat filtered water until just off the boil (90-95°C / 194-203°F). Avoid fully boiling water to prevent bitterness.
  3. Place the crushed fennel seeds in a heat-proof cup or teapot.
  4. Pour the hot water over the seeds.
  5. Add the Himalayan pink salt to the hot water and stir briefly to dissolve.
  6. Cover the cup with a lid or saucer to trap the steam and essential oils.
  7. Let the tea steep for 10-15 minutes.
  8. Strain the tea through a fine mesh strainer into your mug.
  9. Sip warm, ideally 20-30 minutes after a meal or at the first sign of bloating.

Notes

For best results, use fresh, whole fennel seeds and high-quality Himalayan pink salt. Do not exceed 1-2 cups per day. Consult a healthcare provider if pregnant, breastfeeding, salt-sensitive, or on medication. Persistent bloating may require medical attention.
