My biggest kitchen hack for staying on track with health goals is keeping this electrolyte drink ready in the fridge. This Himalayan pink salt weight loss drink recipe takes two minutes to make but keeps you feeling balanced all day long. I started making it after one too many afternoons feeling drained and reaching for sugary snacks, a classic sign my electrolytes were out of whack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup high-quality, food-grade Himalayan pink salt crystals
  • 3-4 cups filtered water
  • 1 clean 1-quart glass jar with non-metallic lid
  • 8 to 12 ounces room temperature or warm filtered water (for daily drink)

Instructions

  1. Fill your glass jar about a quarter of the way with Himalayan pink salt crystals.
  2. Pour the filtered water over the salt until the jar is almost full. Leave a little space at the top.
  3. Securely close the lid and give the jar a gentle shake. Let it sit overnight.
  4. The next morning, check the jar. If all the salt has dissolved, add a few more tablespoons. Your goal is to have a few salt crystals that never dissolve, resting at the bottom of the jar.
  5. Each morning, before eating or drinking anything else, stir 1 teaspoon of this sole solution into a large glass of room-temperature water. Do not use a metal spoon.
  6. Drink it on an empty stomach, and wait 15-30 minutes before having your coffee or breakfast.

Notes

Consistency and timing are everything with this practice. The most effective time is first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach. If you have been advised by a doctor to follow a strict low-sodium diet due to conditions like kidney disease, high blood pressure, or heart failure, you should avoid this drink unless you have explicit permission from your healthcare provider.
