  • 1/8 teaspoon finely ground pink Himalayan salt
  • Juice of 1/4 to 1/2 fresh lemon or lime
  • Optional: Fresh mint leaves, muddled berries, cucumber slices, or a teaspoon of raw honey

Instructions

  1. Pour 16 oz of cold filtered water into a glass or pitcher.
  2. Add 1/8 teaspoon of finely ground pink Himalayan salt.
  3. Squeeze in the juice from 1/4 to 1/2 a fresh lemon or lime.
  4. Stir vigorously until the salt is completely dissolved.
  5. Taste and adjust salt or citrus as needed.
  6. Add optional ingredients like mint, fruit, or honey if desired.
  7. Serve immediately over ice or store in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.

Notes

For intense sweating or prolonged activity, increase salt to 1/4 teaspoon per 16 oz water. Can be made in larger batches and stored in the refrigerator. The drink should taste slightly salty but balanced by the citrus. Use finely ground salt to ensure complete dissolution.
