Pink Himalayan Salt for Fasting

Recipe by Molina

A homemade electrolyte drink designed for fasting, combining pink Himalayan salt with potassium and magnesium to replenish key minerals, prevent headaches, and maintain energy. This recipe helps manage common fasting symptoms like fatigue and muscle cramps.

  • Total Time5min
  • Yield2 liters 1x
  • DietVegan, Gluten Free

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 liters purified water
  • 1 teaspoon pink Himalayan salt (coarse crystals, about 6 grams)
  • 1 teaspoon potassium chloride powder (e.g., Lite Salt or NoSalt)
  • 1/4 teaspoon magnesium citrate powder or magnesium glycinate powder

Instructions

  1. Pour the purified water into a large pitcher or bottle.
  2. Add the pink Himalayan salt, potassium chloride powder, and magnesium powder to the water.
  3. Stir or shake vigorously until all powders are completely dissolved.
  4. Drink steadily throughout your fasting period, adjusting intake based on your body weight and symptoms. For a standard 24-hour fast, aim to consume the full 2 liters over the day.

Notes

For a simpler sole water, dissolve pink Himalayan salt in a jar of water until saturated (salt crystals remain at the bottom), then add 1 teaspoon of this concentrated solution to a glass of fresh water. Adjust the magnesium type based on tolerance; citrate may have a laxative effect for some. Consult a doctor before use if you have kidney issues, hypertension, or are on medication.
